The Scientist will support a small team’s research efforts in immunogenetics target validation and drug discovery. The ideal candidate has experience in creating and directing innovative approaches to target/drug discovery and understanding of drug MoA in the immunogenetic area, including immuno-profiling techniques and functional studies in immunology. Experience in leveraging and integrating gene expression and genomics data as well as high throughput functional approaches to identify and advance high value targets into drug discovery is desired.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidate will work with other members of the biology, bioinformatics and chemistry groups on multiple projects in our immunogenetics/functional medicine pipeline. This includes discovery of biomarkers, understanding underlying molecular/pathway mechanisms, and elucidation of MoAs of clinical compounds (chemical and herbal) with a focus on validation and drug discovery of immune-modulating targets by multiple methods, both in vitro and in vivo. The candidate should be able to use his/her strong skills in immunology and familiarity with the latest immunological technologies to help build a strong platform in this area. The ability to work collaboratively with other members of the biology team as well as independantly will be a key ingredient for the success of this position.

Job Qualifications:
Ph.D. or Master in immunology, immunogenetics, immunooncology or a related discipline
Experience working in a drug discovery environment is preferred but not required.
Clear understanding of immunological mechanisms and disease relevant model systems.
Experience with immuno-phenotying and immune cell-based functional assays
Experience in immune-deficient mouse models (syngeneic, genetically engineered or humanized).
Experience with in silico drug predictions, design and interpretation of high-throughput assays/experiments to interrogate immunomodulatory validation and immune responses is a plus.
Ability to work in a team-based environment
Superior oral and written English and Mandarin communication skills
